The Workers Compensation Board of Manitoba (WCB) has statutory responsibility for all matters of the workers compensation system in Manitoba. It is an injury and disability insurance system for workers and their employers, paid by employers. It has two main functions: (1) to ensure the health and safety of workers in Manitoba and their return to work and (2) to prevent and reduce workplace injury and illness. WCB insures over 34,000 employers and 76 % of the Manitoba workforce.
