Work Model: Hybrid (2 days onsite per week, with the possibility of moving to 4 days onsite in the future) Duration: 12 months (Extension & Conversion possible) About the Role We are seeking a Senior AML Business Analyst IV to support regulatory reporting and data analysis initiatives within a leading financial services organization. The successful candidate will bring strong Business Analysis experience within the Financial Services industry, combined with solid knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), regulatory reporting, and data analysis. This role will involve leading requirements activities, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, supporting regulatory initiatives, and ensuring requirements are clearly documented, validated, governed, and delivered in alignment with project objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead requirements workstreams for large, complex, high-risk, strategic, and regulatory projects. Provide guidance and leadership to other Business Analysts and ensure consistent requirements governance across project teams. Lead requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, validation, and sign-off activities. Develop delivery approaches and requirements work plans aligned with project milestones, dependencies, and constraints. Estimate and manage requirements effort, resources, timelines, and deliverables. Manage requirements dependencies across multiple workstreams and projects. Ensure requirements are concise, accurate, complete, compliant with methodology and standards, and testable. Facilitate stakeholder discussions and drive requirements through review, consensus, and final approval. Assess change requests and evaluate their impact on project objectives, processes, technology, stakeholders, and customers. Identify, document, and validate current-state processes and business capabilities. Work with business stakeholders to define business problems, needs, and potential solutions. Analyze impacts of proposed solutions across customers, employees, processes, technology, and budgets. Identify, categorize, prioritize, challenge, and document business requirements. Identify and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies, escalating when appropriate. Support regulatory reporting initiatives, including LCTR and CTR-related requirements. Perform and support data analysis activities involving data mapping, data lineage, data quality, and data modeling. Collaborate with business, technology, data, risk, compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure requirements align with regulatory and business objectives. Required Qualifications 8–10+ years of Business Analysis experience, preferably in large-scale project/program environments. Strong Financial Services / Banking industry experience. Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments. Strong knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) concepts and processes. Knowledge of: KYC (Know Your Customer) Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Large Cash Transaction Reporting (LCTR) Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) Regulatory reporting FINTRAC regulations Experience with Transaction Monitoring and Customer Risk Rating applications/processes. Strong experience with data analysis and data-related Business Analysis. Hands-on experience with: Data lineage Data quality Source-to-target mapping Data mapping Data modeling Strong requirements management and documentation experience. Experience with Jira and Confluence. Experience with SharePoint. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and MS Project. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong stakeholder management, relationship-building, consensus-building, and influencing skills. Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AML sanctions and sanctions-related frameworks. AML, Financial Crime, or Sanctions-related certification. Experience supporting regulatory reporting transformation or modernization initiatives. Experience working on data mapping, lineage, and data quality initiatives within AML/Financial Crime programs. University degree in Business, Finance, or a related discipline. Business Analysis certification/accreditation is an asset.
