Job details

The client is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support the implementation of the GoA Data Strategy and various data initiatives. The successful candidate will work within the Data Centre of Excellence to design and develop analytical data products, dashboards, reports, data models, and business intelligence solutions. The role involves analyzing complex datasets, developing data visualizations, performing statistical and data-quality analysis, gathering business requirements, and translating data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making. This is a multi-faceted BI/data role that may involve data analysis, data modelling, statistical analysis, data governance, data quality, business analysis, data product design, and data visualization. Key Responsibilities Provide hands-on Business Intelligence support for strategic data initiatives under the GoA Data Strategy. Develop dashboards, reports, KPIs, and analytical products to support strategic decision-making. Develop data products using data from multiple datasets and sources. Analyze large and complex datasets and prepare actionable insights. Gather, analyze, and document business and analytical requirements. Design, develop, and optimize analytical data products and services. Develop and share data models and analytical solutions. Capture and document business and technical metadata for data products. Conduct Data analysis, Data quality audits and reviews, Statistical analysis and Data mining Develop baseline and ongoing outcomes, key results, metrics, and performance indicators. Integrate quantitative and qualitative data to generate business insights. Design and develop dashboards, visualizations, and custom reports using multiple data sources. Translate business requirements into analytical and BI solutions. Present analytical findings and communicate complex data concepts to clients and stakeholders. Support evidence-based decision-making and strategic business planning. Identify and escalate project issues and risks. Work effectively in a multi-vendor and multi-staff environment. Adapt analytical products and services as business needs, user requirements, and technical opportunities evolve. Must-Have Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field. 5+ years in Designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions. 5+ years in Applying a comprehensive range of data visualization techniques to communicate analytical findings effectively. 5+ years in Analyzing large and complex datasets and translating findings into meaningful insights. 5+ years in Presenting analytical results and using data storytelling techniques to communicate insights to stakeholders. 5+ years in Understanding, gathering, and developing requirements for analytical projects. Nice-to-Have Qualifications 5+ years of experience translating business requirements into analytical solutions. 5+ years of experience combining raw data from a variety of data sources across different domains. 5+ years of experience working directly with clients and explaining complex data concepts clearly and thoughtfully. 5+ years of experience developing Complex Power BI measures, Calculated columns and Analytical calculations 3+ years of experience using SQL for data querying and data transformations. 5+ years of experience preparing Data visualizations, Dashboards and Analytical models 3+ years of experience working with large government datasets.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with over 5 years of experience in Power BI and data visualization. Candidates should be proficient in analyzing complex datasets and gathering business requirements for analytical projects.
