Transat is looking to fill a Senior Business Analyst position in the ISD to serve Transat Distribution Canada (TDC), the business unit responsible for the company's corporate, affiliated, and franchised travel agencies.

The incumbent will be responsible for optimizing current computer systems and helping to achieve TDC's business objectives by proposing improvements and new solutions. They will also be required to conduct, communicate, and disseminate strategy and technology intelligence in the business sector to identify best practices and potential technology solutions.


Together with the TDC managers, determine the strategies and business needs for which existing or future IT solutions that would contribute to the company's success.

Optimization - Re-engineering

  • Document current procedures and solutions and perform a SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats);
  • Evaluate and define disparities between business needs and current procedures and systems;
  • Develop and present solutions to ensure that current business procedures and systems run at peak efficiency.

New Solutions

  • Work with suppliers or, if need be, the development teams to identify possible IT solutions and ensure that the solutions put forth meet expressed needs;
  • Identify how new solutions will impact business processes;
  • Validate detailed analysis for deliverables, as well as strategies, scenarios, and test cases related to the delivery of solutions;
  • Help business managers in providing benefit analysis expected by solutions; 
  • Present, explain, and justify recommendations to business managers and senior management;
  • Assist suppliers or, if need be, the development team in executing and deploying solutions;
  • Document, prioritize, and manage requirements during projects;
  • Assist users when implementing solutions;
  • Act occasionally as project manager or project director.       


  • Bachelor degree in computer science;
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in IT, including at least 3 as a business analyst;
  • Experience in retail ;
  • Bilingualism;
  • Skills in documenting business needs;
  • Knowledge of a project methodology;
  • Ability to explain the complexities of business to IT experts as easily as the complex nature of IT solutions to those in charge of business;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain issues in layman's terms to executive clients.
