Specific Job Description

This position reports to the IT department and supports LM Canada in Montreal, QC.

  • Review, analyze, and create detailed documentation of systems and user requirements including workflow, program functions, use cases and steps required to develop or modify applications
  • Serve as the functional subject matter expert on specified applications
  • Lead requirements elicitation efforts and be able to determine whether they are enhancements or fixes, be able to prioritize business requirements and translate user needs into system requirements
  • Ability to assess continuity and completeness of requirements and test information from customer need through acceptance and training, identify barriers and corrective actions to ensure alignment of customer, project team and/or service provider
  • Use effective communication techniques to educate the Organization, Management, Executive Management and others when change to processes, practices or system usage is required to support technical requirements and business objectives
  • Be the primary point of contact and be hands on for primary Software vendor
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing user training and documents during the roll-out of new functionality to meet business requirements
  • This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, to support on-call as needed, support routine maintenance windows and other non-core business activities.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • Bilingual in English and French
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Software Application Implementation and Maintenance
  • Experience with documenting functional specifications and requirements in a clear and concise way, preferably using Use Cases
  • Demonstrated analytical and decision making skills
  • Ability to research information and summarize, and present data
  • Ability to manage established processes
  • Experience translating business needs into system requirements or process changes
  • Ability to train and evaluate effectiveness
  • Ability to work in a Team environment and independently
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with employees at all levels
  • Effective communications skills both written and verbal
  • Effective presentation skills.

Desired skills, qualifications and experience

  • Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Industry knowledge
  • Knowledge of ERP data constructs, as it applies to Supply Chain Management (SCM), Operations and Finance
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall development methods
  • Professional business and process acumen
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the company
  • Self-Motivated Team Player
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma Initiatives
  • Experience developing or delivering system training to users.
