Specific accountabilities

Reporting to the Director, Internal Audit, you will provide auditing services within a dynamic and innovative team that values work-life balance. You will contribute to the internal audit function by performing operational audits and advisory engagements for Ivanhoé Cambridge's business units, offices, properties, partners and subsidiaries.

Main duties include the following:

Operational audits and advisory engagements

Plan and carry out designated internal auditing work, in collaboration with other team members and in compliance with International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards) as well as the IIA's code of professional conduct:

• Analyze processes and activities in order to evaluate the corresponding risks and audit controls;
• Develop and conduct tests to ensure the proper controls are in place and verify their effectiveness and efficiency;
• Analyze data to pinpoint high-risk areas, detect anomalies, corroborate findings and identify patterns;
• Support Ivanhoé Cambridge's transformation and advise business units by analyzing processes, policies, procedures, controls and governance frameworks or by helping to identify and assess risks; take part in task forces and project committees;
• Draft value-added recommendations; put forward innovative solutions and suggestions to optimize practices;
• Take part in presenting results and preparing final reports for business units.

Business intelligence, continuous improvement and innovation

• Develop and maintain knowledge of the business, its activities and priorities; develop constructive relationships with business units;
• Monitor developments in internal audit practices and trends in real estate;
• Propose and help develop, improve and implement innovative new tools, methods and techniques in order to optimize Internal Audit Department activities; take part in other departmental initiatives and activities as required.

Key requirements

• Undergraduate degree in accounting, business administration, management, finance or another related discipline;
• Chartered accountant designation (CPA or equivalent); CIA, CFE or CISA, an asset;
• Three to five years of experience working in audit, internal controls, risk management or process optimization at accounting firms, financial institutions or real estate corporations;
• Hands-on knowledge of real estate or investment and the corresponding risks and controls, an asset;
• Excellent command of French and English;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools, familiarity with AuditBoard, Power BI, IDEA and JDE, an asset;
• Ability to analyze and integrate information and formulate practical recommendations;
• Solid interpersonal and relational skills; good listener with strong business writing skills;
• Proactive, meticulous, organized and self-motivated;
• Aptitude for teamwork;
• Available to travel within Canada and abroad up to 10% of the time.
