Mechanical Systems Engineering Analyst-
L3 Technologies MAS, located in Mirabel (QC), is a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies, Inc.
As Engineering Analyst - “Mechanical Systems” at L3 MAS you will:
Work in the Systems/Specialties group for the military CF-18 Program. The candidate will assist the technical leader in mechanical systems and structures modification design, test and certification. The candidate will participate in some of the activities necessary to assure continuing airworthiness of CF-18 fleet mechanical systems as delegated by Canadian Department of National Defense (DND).
To achieve this, you will be called upon to:
Under supervision, address maintenance snags and analyze them in relation to established design data, in-service experience and the resultant deterioration in the level of system safety;
Under supervision, provide technical support and engineering disposition in order to restore the structural integrity and the systems performance of the damaged structures/systems. The solutions must be in accordance with the customer's requirements, military (MIL-STD or other), civil (FAR, TC), and / or corporate standards in place;
Assist the technical leader in developing mechanical system modifications and installation work instructions, procedures and recommendations;
Identify discrepancies and/or problems with drawings before releasing to production and implements corrective action to ensure the timely release;
Support/participate in integration tests on the system; develop test scripts;
Under supervision, provide detailed evaluation of the reliability impact of proposed design changes per ARP4761 and / or MIL-STD-882E;
Under supervision, assess contributing factors of system safety and airworthiness degradations by launching a root cause analysis. Identify corrective actions to restore system Reliability;
Prepare technical reports;
Actively work to improve daily processes, and ensures all work meets quality requirements.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautics or equivalent;
Minimum 1 year of experience in Aviation Mechanical Systems Engineering or equivalent;
Experience with the use of software such as: MS Office, (Relex/Windchill is an asset);
Ability to read drawings;
CAD experience (preferably with CATIA) a plus;
Knowledge of the MSG-3 2015 process or higher is an asset;
Ability to write reports in English;
Knowledge of the F/A-18 Hornet is an major asset.
Operational requirements :
Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program;
Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
Location not accessible via public transportation, car required.
