The Team

The Global Fraud Technology team develops and manages innovative products designed to continuously strengthen the bank’s posture against the ever-changing Fraud threat landscape. We are part of the Global Engineering and Operations Functions team and we work in close partnership with our Fraud Business and key Technology Partners throughout Scotiabank to drive implementation of global products that will protect and strengthen the bank. We work with advanced technologies and are looking for key team members that have a passion to learn and deliver.

The Role

Global Fraud Technology Team is looking for an energetic and results-oriented Senior Technical Business Analyst with deep exposure to Quality Assurance testing to join our team to help build our most innovative Fraud detection and prevention products. We’re looking to fill our team with influencers, makers, creators and leaders who are flexible, curious, adventurous, versatile and responsive; and who are ready to roll up their sleeves in a collaborative and productive environment to get things done.

Some of the Key Accountabilities include:

  • Facilitate requirements gathering and design sessions with multiple stakeholders to extract requirements, and turning them into use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams, cheat sheets, etc., to meet the needs of development team and other stakeholders
  • Analyze and develop technical requirements based on solution documentation
  • Drive joint application design solutioning sessions with architecture, development and business teams that inform high-level estimates for large and medium sized initiatives
  • Create, refine and maintain product backlog and associated deliverables, release backlog with forecasted delivery timelines
  • Analyze data flow and conduct data mapping
  • Bridge the gap between business and IT, ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment of both functional (for business needs) and non-functional requirements (such as operational, reporting, performance, interfaces, and constraints.)
  • Diligently document test plans, test cases and bug reports
  • Work with scrum team to design and develop test strategies, testability requirements and implementation strategies for testing automation
  • Contribute to manual and automation testing by developing and augmenting test cases and test libraries, perform hands on testing as required
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing information and perspectives
  • Demonstrate strong personal values and a commitment to our mission and customers

What You Will Bring to Succeed

  • You have 5 to 8 years of experience as Business Analyst and QA role
  • You pride yourself as a detail-oriented person and you notice all the little details for every document / requirement / conversation that comes across you
  • You have experience testing application in banking or financial services industry
  • You have experience with frameworks such as JUnit, SOAPUI, Postman, Protractor, RestAssured etc.
  • You are comfortable with native, API, integration, exploratory, performance/load/stress, usability, accessibility and security testing
  • You have experience in executing test cases and documenting results for various types of testing (smoke, integration, functional and regression testing)
  • Understanding of cloud computing platforms, web, API and database testing technologies
  • Knowledge of automated testing industry best practices and trends
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipeline
  • You are a self-motivated person and are driven to deliver quality work
  • You are able to navigate complex and ambiguous situations with ease, multi-task and work on multiple initiatives at the same time
  • Previous work experience in the banking industry or financial services is preferred
  • An engineering degree in computer science or relevant work experience
