Wage/salary: CAD $96,000 – 100,000 per annum

The opportunity

Intellect Design Arena Inc. is looking for a Senior Business Analyst. The ideal candidate possesses a strong aptitude for capturing, interpreting, and communicating customer requirements, and translating those requirements into functional specifications for implementation of Intellect SEEC's commercial off the shelf software products.


  • Provide functional and technical analysis for the implementation of our insurance distribution suite for large-scale insurance carrier delivery projects
  • Participate in the planning and execution of business system testing
  • May be assigned project management duties as required
  • Leveraging your insurance industry- and SEEC product-specific (e.g., Distribution and Service Suite) experience and skills to implement SEEC SAAS-based product offerings
  • Using your demonstrated and proven client-facing communications skills for in-site client interactions
  • Engaging your internal IDA network and established internal process, analytical and available resource knowledge to implement client solution implementations
  • Continuously liaising with SEEC product development team to contribute to product feature enhancements and prioritization thereof


  • Bachelor's degree in Business is required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in an analytical role in a project-related environment; Design experience is an asset
  • Proficient ability to analyze complex, multi-system business needs; ability to identify multiple solution options, and formulate succinct recommendations based on time, impact, resources, etc.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and project planning
  • Ideally have worked in Agile as well as Waterfall project delivery methodologies
  • Domain expertise in the Canadian insurance industry, and an understanding of business processes in Life, Health, Auto, Home, Travel and other types of personal insurance
  • Experience with end-to-end implementation of financial services-specific or other COTS packages, ideally in the insurance industry (e.g., iPipeline, CGIC)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in a variety of mediums, to a variety of business and technical professionals
  • Familiarity with database query tools to provide reports, identify data for test cases, etc.
  • A certificate in Business Analysis is an asset
  • Introductory courses towards the CIP certification is an asset
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Have strong stakeholder management skills
  • Management consulting experience
  • Customer service orientation is essential
