JOB OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Manager, Data Management, the Data Quality Analyst will monitor the quality of data from which organizations make informed decisions, examine complex data to optimize the efficiency and quality of the data being collected, resolve data quality problems, and collaborate with other team members and business stakeholders to improve systems and database designs. The successful candidate will contribute to operational improvements and act as a positive change agent by establishing best practices, standards, processes and promoting data driven decision making. The analyst will work with diverse sets of CCS data, identifying trends, resolve data quality problems and proactively monitor and evaluate the health of the Society’s data.

This role can be based anywhere in Canada.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Develop procedures to enhance the accuracy and integrity of CCS data.
  • Monitor overall health of the data and execute cleansing efforts.
  • Resolve data quality problems.
  • Support data cleansing and data migrations between applications and platforms.
  • Write SQL queries to extract data from the data warehouse.
  • Use ETL and Data Integration tools (SSIS, Jitterbit, DemandTools,…) to extract data, transform/clean and upload to different systems
  • Work closely with the DAS, Digital, IT, BTO and business leaders on various projects in identifying, recommending, planning and implementing data quality solutions, standards and optimization processes to improve data integrations, re-use and accuracy.
  • Running data queries to identify coding issues and data exceptions, as well as cleaning data.
  • Documenting processes and maintaining data records.
  • Ensures data management policies and procedures are adhered to and utilize best practices (eg: ensuring data privacy, accuracy, consistency, etc.).
  • Determine root cause for data quality errors and make recommendations for long-term solutions.
  • Research and determine scope and complexity of issue so as to identify steps to fix issue.
  • Gathering data from different data sources to identify and interpret trends.
  • Analyze and provide data solutions to solve business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement, systems enhancement, user training, and/or software procurement.
  • Support data projects and initiatives by assessing proposals and designs for architectural compliance (data and solutions) and promote best practices during the testing, build and implementation phases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Management or related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data quality management.
  • Experience in SQL language and Salesforce is required.
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; communicate with technical and non-technical users
