Associate Director, Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence

CBS is seeking an Associate Director to lead Canadian Blood Services’ Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence in its dynamic IT division. Reporting to the Director, Internal Customer Experience, the Associate Director leads a multidisciplinary team with expertise in data, analytics, data modelling, and data visualization/communication. You will conceptualize, plan, resource and oversee new analytics and reporting products in response to strategic decision-making needs while overseeing the identification, acquisition and adaptation of new data elements, datasets, and analytic methods. Regularly collaborating with senior leaders across Canadian Blood Services, you will execute on a data & analytics strategy for the Centre of Excellence that promotes analytic usage and skills that enable Canadian Blood Services’ ability to advance business goals more quickly, drive innovation and achieve higher quality outcomes.
To do so you will need to demonstrate skill in leading programs from strategy to inception to execution to maturation. You are adept at translating strategic priorities into measurable program goals while managing an advanced business intelligence and analytics system to support system evaluation and evidence-based decision making. The role demands a combination of business and technical acumen and an ability to demonstrate a high-level technical understanding of data analytics, predictive analysis, data modelling, data visualization application development/environment management/ release management processes, and business strategy. Exposure to emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in the context of analytics and data science will be necessary to realize success. You bring strong knowledge of user experience design and customer service management and ideally, knowledge of health-related data and databases, statistical/analytic software, business intelligence tools, data manipulation, reporting and visualization.
