The Business Analyst, under the direction of the VP, Information Technology is responsible for performing strategic business analyses for various departments in support of corporate goals and objectives. This includes cataloguing and documenting business processes and sub-processes in order to discover inefficiencies. The Business Analyst will also re-engineer processes and sub-processes as necessary for the purpose of determining and meeting the company's technology plans. This individual will be the main liaison between the IT department and business units.

The Ideal Candidate will bring a proven track record of customer service and direct work experience in a Business Analyst capacity. They will bring excellent listening skills, solid technology knowledge, organizational skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment, and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analysis, management and communication of requirements.
  • Research and review processes that support business functions and system requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, system owners, and end users to further refine business operations requirements and goals.
  • Works with application developers to design solutions based on the requirements documented.
  • Clarifying functional requirements and resolving implementation issues.
  • Integrate new or revised business processes for incorporation into strategic decision making.
  • Identify, validate, and prioritize clients' business needs and requirements.
  • Design, develop, and distribute training for impacted business users.
  • Support end users to resolve issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree, diploma or technical certificate in computer science or related field
  • 5 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in related Information Technology / Information Systems environments.
  • Demonstrated experience modeling and mapping business processes using proven methodologies and models.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, with in-depth knowledge of MS Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills, including an understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed and high sense of initiative.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, high standards of accuracy, attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills.
  • Excels in a high-pressure and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple demands and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to troubleshoot business process changes, errors, and subsequent modifications; must be able to do this with the work of other analysts.
  • Effective deadline management and project management skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Quick learner.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Business process knowledge of a manufacturing environment
  • Good business acumen
  • Experience mentoring other BA team members
  • CBAP Certification
  • Experience using SQL to retrieve data to support fact-based decisions
  • Previous experience with an ERP
