The HR Analyst within Total Rewards will provide support to the Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits and Pension) team, and broader HR function as required, through the provision of research, analytics, and statistics to develop various assumptions, scenarios and evaluations in order to inform and enable decision making.

DUTIES

Conduct research, benchmarking, data analysis and report preparation in support of both ad-hoc and cyclical Total Rewards and HR initiatives.
Generate and maintain statistics on a variety of HR metrics and analyze the results for the purpose of reporting and providing recommendations or information.
Participate in and support ongoing Total Rewards activities as required including: collection, input and analysis of market data; costing of collective agreement and program change proposals; analysis and review of financial & utilization information for benefit and pension plans.
Liaise with external and internal service providers and employees in order to define requirements, gather data and resolve issues.
Present written and verbal proposals and reports to management

QUALIFICATIONS

University Degree with 3-5 years progressive experience in Human Resources preferably including 3+ years of Total Rewards experience or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience. A CEBS, CHRP or CCP designation is an asset.
Strong problem solving, modeling and analytical skills and capacity for thorough and accurate compilation of data for clear reporting of results. Ability to translate analytical results into conclusions and recommendations.
A good understanding of Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices, thorough knowledge of relevant Federal legislation (e.g. Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Code, etc.)
Ability to operate as a team player with minimal supervision, self-directed and self-motivated
Advanced computer applications skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint & HRMS databases
Excellent communication (written and oral) skills; ability to present complex issues in a simple yet factual manner
High level of adaptability/flexibility; ability to cope with a changing environment
